Cooking for two can be a challenge but a lot of us have to do it- young couples, old couples, single gals sharing a place….
I have a few go-to recipies that are safe and easy, but special occasions can be a little more challenging. As most of the SEC faithful do on Saturdays, we have settled in for hours of football and just as my fellow Ole Miss fans would, I’ve planned a Grove-worthy mini tailgate.
I hate chicken wings. I have never ordered them. Like, ever. The boyfriend loves them. Yesterday I did AlmostEnough research to give making them a whirl.
If you know me, you know I cannot use recipes. I usually read a few online then mix them up and throw everything together from memory – that’s what I did today.
I decided to try two types of wings. Note: since I live in a small apartment, I am forced to use the oven! I divided a bag of frozen wings into two gallon bags and let them marinate and defrost simultaneously for about 2 hours.
Lemon Pepper Wings
3 Lemons
1 TBS of minced garlic
Enough Olive Oil to coat the wings
Salt & Pepper
BBQ and Teriyaki Wings
1/2 C of BBQ Sauce
1/2 C of Dijon Mustard
2 TBS of Teriyaki Sauce
Cook both on 450 degrees for 20 minutes then flip
Cook for 5 minutes then flip
Turn broiler on 500 degrees and cook for 3 minutes on each side
I enjoyed these wings enough to eat FIVE! You heard me, five. I would still rather have a chicken breast, but as Chris munched down (his favorite was the BBQ), I got a high five. I’d say he was happy!
Grab some napkins, fellow wing-haters, and enjoy!
Hotty Toddy!
